Birth Animal Totems

   Native Americans throughout time have held Sacred, the connection between Nature, Animal, and Man. Your Birth Animal Totem is the animal spirit that you are born under. Native Americans would frequently name their off-spring after their birth totems, simply because the child would have the same characteristic as the animal spirit. Like Running Bear, or Little Deer.

  Or how about the famous ones like, Crazy Horse, Sitting Bull and one not so famous to us is Chief Eagles Ribs who was a war Chief of the Piegan Black Feet and was the war leader of a band living by the mouth of the Yellowstone River.
  Most people already have a favorite, like a Puma or Elk. There are many ways to receive Animal Totems. One way is they could come to you in a dream or someone could give you a totem. Some even chose their own Animal Totems. I once was given a Snake as a totem and it is also my life lesson. My Birth Totem is the Deer and I have chosen the Red Tail Hawk. So you can have more than one totem in your life’s path. You may be surprised how you receive your totem or how they might come to you, or what the Animal might be.
